First, I must congratulate you for a successful completion of your WAEC 2023/2024 Examinations, I guess the journey has been a tough one.
Now that you have successfully completed your Exams, the next step is to check for your result to see how well you performed.

I must confess, the process for checking your WAEC result is not as easy as checking JAMB result, for JAMB, the result will be sent to you via SMS or you could simply visit JAMB result checking portal and your result will be shown to you after entering your Registration number.
But for WAEC, the story is quite different, you will need to first buy what we call your WAEC scratch card (Epin), I will explain this as we proceed further, mind you, the steps shown here can be used to check WAEC result for both PRIVATE and SCHOOL candidate. ENJOY!
Is WAEC Result Out For May/June Candidate?
Yes, WAEC result for May/June examination is out.

When Will WAEC Result Be Released?
Generally, O’ level (WAEC, NECO and NABTEB) results are released Eight (8) weeks after the last paper of the Exam, and same is applicable here for WAEC.
So, if the last paper for 2023 WAEC was written 13th of JUNE 2023, then the results would be expected to be released as from 13th of August upward, don’t worry you will be informed by this channel once the results are out.

NOTE: To be able to Check your 2023 WAEC Result, you must first buy your scratch Card (E-pin)
Without this E-pin, it would be impossible to check for your WAEC result, you can get them at the National office of WAEC and at any of its Zonal and Branch Offices across Nigeria.
Requirements To Check WAEC Result
To be able to check Check Your WAEC Result, there are some requirements you must meet to be successful, they include…

| 4. | DATA (for those using the Online method) or Credit of at least N30 (for those using the SMS method) |

How To Check WAEC Result 2023
Currently, there are two (2) ways to check your May/June WAEC Result, these methods include…
- Using the Result Online checking Portal
- Checking WAEC Result through ‘SMS’ Method
What ever method you decide to use, will all lead to the same end, provided you have the requirements I highlighted earlier.
How To check Your WAEC Result Online
To check your WAEC result for 2023 using the Online checking Portal, follow this guide below…

Visit WAEC Result Checking Portal; https://www.waecdirect.org/
On your mobile phone/PC, locate your web browser (preferably chrome) and visit https://www.waecdirect.org/.
You will be taken to the result checking page similar to what is shown in the image Above.

Enter Your ‘Examination Number’
This was the number given to you by your Exam center or school, which you then filled in all your Exam papers while writing WAEC.

Supply Your ‘Examination Year’
Make sure the year you use corresponds with the year you wrote your WAEC exam (for students who wrote this year, use 2023), so if you sat for the Exam in 2020, and happen to want to check your result now, use 2020.

Select your ‘Exam Type’
Either School candidate for May/June or Private Candidate (Both First and Second Series Candidate use this option)

Enter Your Pin And Serial Number
This pin and serial number is on your WAEC Scratch card, you can only use this Pin and Serial number for five (5) times, after which, you will have to get another one.

Hit the SUBMIT button
Finally click on the “SUBMIT” button to check your WAEC result.
Easy right?
TOP SECRET?: If you still have your WAEC ID card with you, then there is no need to buy Epin, on it contains your PIN and SERIAL number which you can then use to check for your WAEC result.
You can only use it (WAEC Pin) for a maximum of five (5) times.
As you already know, this is not the only method available to check your WAEC result, you can also check using SMS.
How To Check WAEC Result Through SMS
If for some reasons you prefer to use the SMS method, then you should send a text to “32327” following the format below…
WAEC*Your Examination Number*PIN*ExamYear
The message formatting, should be similar with what is shown in the image above. Replace “Your Examination Number” with your correct Examination number, if you don’t remember this, you can check the ID Card you were given, or check back with your school of enrolment.

What Is WAEC Epin?
WAEC Epin also popularly known as WAEC Scratch card is a unique 10-digit or 12-digit number that is required to access the service to check result for WAEC.
Epin is an acronym for Electronic Personal Identification Number, it enables direct access to a candidate’s results.
Where can I Buy WAEC Epin?
You can get the WAEcC Epin at the National office of WAEC and at any of its Zonal and Branch Offices across Nigeria.
How Much Is WAEC Epin?
WAEC Epin is sold for One thousand five hundred Naira (N1500).
How Many Times Can I check My WAEC Result?
The E-pin you buy do not give you unlimited access to your WAEC Result, it has a maximum limit of usage is five (5) times, after using the Epin for five (5) times, you will need to buy another Epin if you want to check your WAEC result again.
Can I Use One e-pin To Check More Than One result?
NO, you cannot use one E-pin to check multiple result, only the result the E-pin was first used to check can it recheck for a maximum of five (5) times.
To check another result of interest, you will require a new e-PIN Voucher.
My Result In WAEC Is Showing HELD
Yes, not all results are released by WAEC, if a particular subjects shows held, it means WAEC wants to review the subjects to see if the student was involved in examination malpractice.
All you have to do this time is wait, if you are cleared of not partaking in exam malpractice, your results will be released.
How to check WAEC result 2023 by SMS
For now, you cannot check your WAEC result using SMS, the only way currently available to check your Waec result is through WAEC result checking portal, which I have guided you on here.
Can I check my WAEC result without card
NO, you cannot check your WAEC result without buying your WAEC scratch card (E-pin), simply stroll to one of the scratch card sales point to get your E-pin and check your result using the steps shown to you here.
Can I check WAEC result without examination number
NO, you must have your WAEC examination number, Pin and scratch card, before you can check your WAEC result.
If you don’t remember your Examination number for WAEC, simply go back to the school you sat for WAEC and ask them to give you your Examination number or check the ID card given to you by WAEC.
