Do UNIBEN Offer Accounting?

Yes, UNIZIK is one of the few Universities fully accredited to offer Accounting in Nigeria.

Students who wish to become an Accountant and finds UNIZIK as a suitable school for study can either through JAMB or other direct entry like JUPEB do so.

Requirements To Study Accounting In UNIZIK

To study Accounting in UNIZIK you must meet with the following JAMB and O’ level subject (WAEC, NECO or NABTEB) requirements

UNIZIK Cut Off Mark For Accounting

To study Accounting in UNIZIK you must score at least 180 in JAMB to qualify for Post UTME.

But scoring 180 in JAMB won’t guarantee your admission into Faculty of Management Science in UNIZIK.

Accounting being a very competitive course in Nigeria require you score very well in JAMB, a JAMB score of 260 and above should do the Job, and also good grade in your O’level result is a prerequisite.

O’level Grade For Accounting In UNIBEN

Your O’level grade will be computed from the four subjects you sat for in JAMB.

A good grade in these subjects will boost your chances of being admitted, because unlike most schools, UNIZIK uses your JAMB score and O’level grade to compute students aggregate.

If you must be admitted on the merit list you must score well above the aggregate score for Accounting.

Based on previous years, the aggregate score for Accounting in UNIZIK is 244, now let’s both analyze the JAMB and O’level grade you will need to get to score above the aggregate.

UNIZIK Accounting Aggregate Score

UNIZIK Aggregate score for admission to study Accounting is 244.

UNIZIK admission aggregate score is calculated based on your JAMB score and O’ level result for the four subjects taken in JAMB.

The ratio for calculation is; 70:30, i.e 70% JAMB score and 30% O’ level subject score 70/100 = 0.7; 30/100 = 0.3

A1= 90
B2= 80
B3= 70
C4= 60
C5= 55
C6= 50
D7= 25
E8 to F9=0
Awaiting Result (AR) =0

BONUS: Students who credits all required subjects in one sitting get 10 points, while students with two sittings gets 0 point

Now, here is a typical example for a student with One sitting O’level (+10)

Final Score: 260*0.7 + 265*0.3 + 10 (one sitting bonus) = 261.5

So you see that the higher your JAMB and Post UTME grade the higher your average aggregate score which consequently increases your chances of being admitted.

Other Direct Entry Requirement

JUPEB Program For Accounting In UNIZIK

Aside JAMB, you can also be admitted to study Accounting through JUPEB, JUPEB is an acronym for Joint Universities Preliminary Examinations Board.

To kick start this process you will first need to buy the form and sit for the entrance exam.

There is really no passing or failing in the entrance exam, it’s actually just a formality as most student if not all will be allowed to participate in the JUPEB program thereafter.

The program spans for 1 year (2 semesters) and successful candidates would then be given admission to study Accounting beginning from 200 level.

JAMB Direct Entry

For student who have studied other courses before now and want to study Accounting, you can apply through JAMB direct entry and be admitted to 200 level.

The student must hold at least a Bachelor’s degree (second class Hons) from a recognized University in chemistry or the biological sciences.

How Many Years To Study Accounting In UNIZIK?

It takes 4 years to study Accounting in Nnamdi Azikiwe University.

If you add 1 year of NYSC, it makes the entire study duration 5 years.

UNIZIK School Fees For Accounting

The current school fees for Medicine students in UNIZIK is NGN95,000 for new students and NGN40,300 for returning students.
