To study Nursing in UNIZIK you must meet with the following JAMB and O’ level subject (WAEC, NECO or NABTEB) requirements

JAMB Subject	Use of English, Biology, Chemistry and Physics
O’ level (WAEC, NECO or NABTEB) Requirement	Five (5) SSC credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology.
Direct Entry Requirements	(i) ‘A’ Level passes in any two (2) of Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Mathematics Five (5) SSC credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology. Physics, Chemistry and Biology. (ii) ND Upper Credit in Prosthesis and Orthopaedic Technology. (iii) Two (2) ‘A’ Level passes in Biology/ Zoology, Chemistry and Physics plus three (3) other ‘O’ Level credit passes in Mathematics, Physics and English Language. (iv) NRN or its approved equivalent plus five (5) ‘O’ Level credit passes in English Language and four (4) Science subjects chosen from Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Human Anatomy, Physiology and Hygiene, Health Science, Further Mathematics and General Science.

Cut Off Mark For Nursing In UNIZIK

To study Nursing in UNIZIK you must score at least 200 in JAMB to qualify for Post UTME Screening.

But scoring 200 in JAMB won’t guarantee your admission into the Health Science and Technology in UNIZIK.

Nursing being a very competitive course in Nigeria require you score very well in JAMB, a JAMB score of 260 and above should do the Job, and also good grade in your O’level result is a prerequisite.

Your O’level grade will be computed from the four subjects you sat for in JAMB.

A good grade in these subjects will boost your chances of being admitted in UNIZIK, because unlike most schools, UNIZIK uses JAMB score and O’level grade to compute students aggregate.

UNIZIK Aggregate score for admission into Nursing is 276.

UNIZIK admission aggregate score is calculated based on JAMB score and O’ level result for the four subjects taken in JAMB.

The ratio for calculation is; 70:30, i.e 70% JAMB score and 30% O’ level subject score 70/100 = 0.7; 30/100 = 0.3

Points Per O’level Grade:

A1= 90
B2= 80
B3= 70
C4= 60
C5= 55
C6= 50
D7= 25
E8 to F9=0

BONUS: Students who credits all required subjects in one sitting get 10 points, while students with two sittings gets 0 point

So you see that a higher your JAMB and good Post UTME grade the higher your average aggregate score which consequently increases your chances of being admitted.

Other Direct Entry Requirement

JUPEB Program For Nursing In UNIZIK

Aside JAMB, you can also be admitted to study Nursing through JUPEB, JUPEB is an acronym for Joint Universities Preliminary Examinations Board.

To kick start this process you will first need to buy the form and sit for the entrance exam.

There is really no passing or failing in the entrance exam, it’s actually just a formality as most student if not all will be allowed to participate in the JUPEB program thereafter.

The program spans for 1 year (2 semesters) and successful candidates would then be given admission to study Nursing beginning from 200 level.

JAMB Direct Entry

For student who have studied other courses before now and want to study Nursing, you can apply through JAMB direct entry and be admitted to 200 level.

The student must hold at least a Bachelor’s degree (second class Hons) from a recognized University in chemistry or the biological sciences.

How Many Years To Study Nursing In UNIZIK?

It takes 5 years to study Nursing in Nnamdi Azikiwe University.

If you add 1 year of compulsory internship and 1 year for NYSC, it makes the entire study duration 7 years.
