…and out of this number only about 500,000 thousands (arguably) students will be given admission, what then happen to the remaining students?, they will be expected to stay at home and prepare for the next JAMB. Quite an Irony right?
To ensure transparency in admission, most schools (UNIPORT also) release how students are graded for admission, and this this through what we call an aggregate system.
Students who do not meet up with the aggregate score (departmental cut off mark) and JAMB cut off mark for the course they want to study will not be given admission.
So now the question is, what is the JAMB and Departmental cut off mark for the different courses in UNIPORT.
This I will be showing you shortly, all you have to do from your end is to take a glass of water and read through diligently… ENJOY?
Is UNIPORT Cut Off Mark Out?
Yes, JAMB cut off mark to be eligible for University of Port Harcourt Post UTME Exam is now out.
Therefore, students who wish to apply to UNIPORT and scored above this score can begin their process of application.
What Is UNIPORT JAMB Cut Off Mark?
UNIPORT Cut off mark is 150 in JAMB irrespective of the course you applied for.
Therefore, any student who sat for the Joint Admission and Matriculation Examination’s (JAMB) Exam and scores above 150 can move to the next stage of admission processing.
But if for any reason, the student was unable to make up to 150, even if the JAMB score is 149, that student will not be able to even apply for UNIPORT Post UTME.
What Is UNIPORT Departmental Cut Off Mark For All Courses
University of Port Harcourt do not have a fixed departmental cut off mark, they work based on the performance of the students in their Post UTME.
For instance, students with the highest score in Post UTME (for each department) is use to determine the number of students the school is going to admit for that particular year
…that is to say, if UNIPORT needs 100 students for a particular department in 2023, they will admit them from the student with the highest score in Post UTME for that department until they attain their desired number of students considered for admission.
Students who after calculating their aggregate, scores above this cut off mark is rest assured of being admitted on merit bases (what we call the merit list).
This departmental cut off mark is not the same for all courses, the more competitive a course is, the higher the cut off mark for admission
You can apply this to your JAMB and Post UTME grade to see where you stand.
UNIPORT JAMB cut off mark is 150 for all courses, the departmental cut off mark varies, depending on how competitive the course is.
