Question

As mentioned earlier, Post UTME is an acronym for Post – Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination, in other words, it’s the exam you sit for after your JAMB Exam, this exam in most cases constitute about 50% of your admission requirements.

Each School organize and conduct their Post UTME independently, and you need to pass this just as much as you did in JAMB or even better to increase your chances of being admitted into the school of your choice.

NOTE: Not Sitting for Post UTME is an automatic ticket to not being admitted, no negotiations.

Is Post UTME A Written Exam?

The truth is, not in all cases is Post UTME in the form of a written exam, the form it takes is based on the school in question, although some Universities are known for written exam (Schools like the University of Benin) others just prefer to conduct screening like Ambrose Alli University.

For schools not conducting a written Exam, the student would be expected to submit their O’level result (WAEC, NECO & NABTEB). Their O’ Level would be graded and scored based on their Performance.

Question

You are to write a total of four (4) subjects in your Post UTME exam, these four subjects are the same with what you sat for in UTME, although some schools may add some aptitude test questions to test the IQ of their students.

This means, Student who sat for JAMB use of English, Government, Economics, and Mathematics are likely to sit for these same subject again in their Post UTME.

This can also be confirmed from the past question.

It could be more or less but most schools for some reason best known to them prefer sticking with this range.

  1. Sir I just realized now that I had been reading extra subjects cause those Extra subjects were not part of my course (medicine and surgery)

  2. I have three weeks to LASCON post utme which is on 10th September

I wouldn’t say am ready right now cause am not even prepared since after the jamb I’ve not touched my books

Am dumbfounded and I need combinations of school
    Plus
I don’t know if I should still stick with the jamb syllabus for studying or not

    • You will be surprised how ready you are (based on your earlier preparation for JAMB) Divine.

Stay calm, focus on areas you are lacking and you will be surprised what you can do in three weeks. Using JAMB Syllabus for your preparation is not a bad Idea, also, try to get POST UTME past questions for your school and let your study be directed based on the way their questions are tailored form the past questions.
