Some students are frightened by the taught of another Exam after Jamb, hence the need to start searching for schools that are likely not to reschedule another exam for student after Jamb. Schools that are found within this category often employ other methods for organizing their Post Utme.

If the School I selected in JAMB will not be writing POST UTME, how then will they screen students??

Good question, you see, Post UTME is not the only method Schools (Universities, Polytechnics and Colleges of Education) use to screen students.

There are other less expensive method Schools use to screen their Student for admission that do not involve writing Exams, they Include…

Methods of screening aside Post Utme involves students uploading their Credentials such as their O’level result (WAEC, NECO or NABTEB Result), birth certificate, JAMB result and others to the School online portal for verification. No Exam will be set for student but their O’level result will be used to calculate their Aggregate cut off mark.

But not all Universities use this method, in fact only about 30% of Universities in Nigeria do not conduct Post Utme for her Student (this is a rough estimate though), below you will find the list of Schools that do not conduct Post Utme for Students…

Documents To Be Submitted For Post UTME Screening

Below are some of the documents you may be asked to submit…

  • Your Original JAMB Result
  • Your O’ level Certificate or result print out with their respective Scratch card
  • Online Post UTME Registration Printout
  • Screening Schedule Printout
  • Birth Certificate
  • Local Government of Origin Certificate
  • JAMB Direct Entry registration slip for DE student
  • JAMB UTME registration slip for UTME student

Do well to keep these certificate very well after use, because you will be needing them for your clearance when eventually admitted.

This answer depends on the school you wish to study in, that is, If you applied to a school like the University of Benin and any other school that requires student to first sit for Post UTME exam before granted admission, then you must write Post UTME

But if the school you applied to, is one of those listed HERE, like Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma (AAU) then you can get admission without writing Post UTME.

Private universities that don’t write post utme

Most Private Universities in Nigeria do not conduct written Post UTME for student instead, they prefer to organize screening where your O’ level results will be checked.

When Will Post Utme Screening Start?

Post UTME Screening is totally different from the sales of Post UTME form, the exam can only start after the sales of form has ended, most times, the Exam starts at the early quarters of the year (October, November or December)
