When I listed the requirements for 2024 JAMB Registration I made it clear that there are certain documents you must have, without which registering for JAMB is impossible.

Among this requirement is your O’ level result (WAEC, NECO or NABTEB) which sometimes can be a problem for students who are either in their secondary school finals (SS3) or are yet to secure the five credits they need in WAEC.

So, this means students who do not have their O’ level result cannot enroll for JAMB or secure admission in 2023?😲

That is where the concept of Awaiting result (AR) comes in…

In order to allow students who may no have their WAEC, NECO or NABTEB result ready at the moment, the board in conjunction with Universities in Nigeria allowed students without O’level to use Awaiting result for registration.

There are conditions for which you can enroll JAMB with Awaiting result, I will also explain these conditions as we progress…

What Is Awaiting Result All About?

The term “Awaiting Result” in JAMB is used to refer to students who registered JAMB without their O’level result with the hope to upload the result when they are officially written by the different Examination body

Students who register for JAMB with Awaiting result will still be asked to upload it, but not at registration, they will be allowed sit for JAMB and even participate in Post UTME.

When you login to your JAMB CAPS, if you are to use awaiting result you will see AR (this stands for awaiting result) for the grades in your respective O’ level subjects

Can I Register For JAMB Using Awaiting Result

Yes, you can register for JAMB without currently having your O’ level result, but, there is a but, you must make sure you will be sitting for WAEC concomitantly with JAMB, that is, you will be writing both JAMB and WAEC same year.

In such a way that, by the time your WAEC result are released, processing of admission for that year would not have begin.

The truth is, without your WAEC, NECO or NABTEB result you won’t be admitted, but the good new is, WAEC, NECO and NABTEB results are always released before admission process begins.

Can I Register For Post UTME With Awaiting Result?

Yes, you can also register for the Post UTME of your school of choice using awaiting result, but make sure you upload the result to JAMB before admission processing for your school begin.

Else, you will not be considered for admission.

In Summary

You can register for both JAMB and Post UTME without having your O’ level result at hand, but you must upload these result to JAMB before admission process begins.

How To Upload Awaiting Result To JAMB

All through this post, I kept saying, the student will have to upload his/her result on a long run, but the question now is how?, below is how you can upload your O’ level result when they are finally out…

For Now, uploading of awaiting result can only be done in JAMB Approved CBT centers, so just the way you could not register for JAMB all by yourself, you cannot also upload O’ level result without JAMB accredited CBT registration centers as an intermediary.

To upload your O’ level result you must…

• Frist, Scan the O’ level result, WAEC, NECO or NABTEB that you wish to upload
• You will be asked to pay a paltry sum of about 1000 Naira depending on the center
• Wait for a period of 24 hours to allow the uploaded result to reflect on your JAMB CAPS
